Philippa Gordon, Phil for short, is a native of Bolingbroke, Canada. She is considered quite the local beauty, an important personage indeed. The boys like her awfully, which suits her perfectly, just as long as she never has to decide which one she actually likes best. She is simply cursed with indecision, and the tendency to talk in italics. But she is very chummy, even if she is a bit silly and frivolous. And while she may admit that her greatest failing, apart from the aforementioned indecision, is her complete inability to keep a secret, she is an utterly loyal and devoted friend. I dare say she's never said a serious word in her life, but she will tell you herself that she is not half so silly as she seems on the surface. "You just accept Philippa Gordon, as the Lord made her, with all her faults, and I believe you'll come to like her."

Phil is quite pretty. She has big, brown eyes and nut-brown hair. Her mouth is a bit crooked, giving her "a vivid, irregular, bewitching type of prettiness," and it is almost always smiling. For the purposes of this journal she is approximately 17 years old.
